We translate international contracts and agreements clause by clause, ensuring equivalence between legal systems and maintaining complete confidentiality. For companies, law firms and private individuals who draw up contracts in several languages.
Contract translation is the specialised translation of legal agreements — commercial, employment, distribution, lease, licence or confidentiality agreements — carried out clause by clause by translators who are proficient in contractual language and the equivalence between legal systems (such as Anglo-Saxon common law and civil law). A contract is a living document between parties: it is vital that every definition, obligation, condition, applicable law and jurisdiction is translated accurately, as even a subtle nuance can alter the scope of the agreement. Unlike a mergers and acquisitions transaction (which encompasses the entire corporate process), the focus here is on the contract itself. It can be provided as a standard or certified translation, depending on whether official validity is required.

Translators specialising in contract law who understand the differences between legal systems and translate each clause with precision. We check definitions, obligations and conditions before delivery, ensuring consistency throughout the contract. Personalised service from start to finish.
Select the language and tell us where the document is going (country and organisation). We tailor the approach and delivery to what is typically required by immigration authorities, universities, notaries, courts or businesses. If you can’t see your specific combination, please get in touch.
We translate official and corporate documents whilst preserving the original formatting, stamps, annotations and appendices. Whether the document is intended for a notary’s office, a court, a university or a government department, we check the critical details to minimise any issues.

There is no fixed rate: every document is different. The price is calculated based on these four factors, which is why we need to see the document before we can give you a firm quote.
Send us these four details and we’ll get back to you with a price, a realistic timeframe and our recommended delivery method.
Most contracts are translated in a straightforward manner, for the purposes of negotiation or signing between the parties. However, when a contract needs to be submitted to a court, a notary’s office or a public authority for legal validity, a certified translation is required, signed and stamped by an officially authorised sworn translator or interpreter. You can check their authorisation by language using the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ official search engine.
The general framework is governed, amongst other regulations, by Royal Decree 724/2020 (BOE), which regulates the Office for Language Interpretation and the role of sworn translators. If your procedure is international, in some cases an apostille or legalisation may also be required, depending on the country.
At Trayma, we go through the destination country and authority with you before issuing the final version, so that we can recommend the safest delivery method and avoid any issues.
These are the types of contracts and clauses we translate most frequently. Most are standard translations; some, where official validity is required, are provided as certified translations. If yours isn’t on the list, please get in touch.
